Sergey Oussik

Born in December 1958 in Andijan, Uzbek SSR; since the age of 16 he has lived permanently in St. Petersburg. He began to draw since childhood. He is an architect by education, but after working in this capacity for several years, in 1987 he broke with architecture and decided to pursue a career as an artist. In the same year he realized pastel as the technique closest to him and since then he works only in pastel, except for sketches and preliminary sketches.

In 1994 he was admitted to the Russian Union of Artists. Since 1997 - member of the International Federation of Artists, since 2003 - Pastel Society of France (awarded the title "maitre pastelliste"), 2007 - Pastel Society of America, 2017 - Pastel Society of Italy. Honorary member of the National Union of Pastelists of Russia formed in 2018.

He wrote and published in 2013 a book on pastel technique "Pastel. Plein air."
